Biography

George Williams has played Welsh folk singers, Scouse protest leaders, female jazz vocalists, fascist Blue Meanies, Northern karaoke DJs, messianic rock stars, sadistic Cockney chauffeurs and socially awkward penguins.

He trained as an actor at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. LIPA, with its multi-disciplinary approach, also enabled him to develop his talents as a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. He has subsequently added puppetry to his skills and is experienced in hand & rod and human-arm styles.

As an actor-musician he is company member of:

Fine Chisel: Dumbstruck (2013 Fringe First Award, MTN Award for Innovation), Midnight at The Boar’s Head, Unplugged (2012 Three Weeks Editors’ Award)

Wildheart & Lyric: Birdy  (5* What’s On Stage)

As an actor-puppeteer he is company member of:

Long Nose Puppets: Shoebaby, Flyaway Katie, Penguin and Arthur’s Dreamboat – award-winning puppetry adaptations of the Polly Dunbar picture books with music by Tom Gray of Gomez.
